Father's day June 2014

It has been 3 months since i posted an entry here. So sorry about the long pause.

So today i'm going to post about Father's Day celebration this year which was fall on last Sunday (15 June 2014). 

The celebration of Father's Day was really special for my husband. Eventhough we are far away from family and relatives back in KK, celebrating at a new place was really a good experience to us.

We didn't dine out to a fancy restaurant though. I took an effort to cook and baked a cake.

As usual on Sunday morning, we went to St Werburgh Catholic Church in Chester. The morning mass started at 10.45am and ended an hour later. Took out some food for lunch from Subway and Wok n Go ( A Chinese Food Outlet), and walked to Grosvernor Park for picnic.

Grosvenor Park. This park situated near St. Werburgh Church. A lot of people picnic and hanging around here on weekend especially on summer season. I love to see my son playing around with his daddy at the park. 

Eventhough it is summer season, there are still flowers at the park. Look at those flowers. Aren't they lovely?.. 

I baked a cake on late evening and came out with such decoration for the first time. Yes, it was my first attempt decorating a cake by using fondant. I don't have complete tools in making this. I even made the alphabets manually because i don't have cutter. Most of my baking tools left in KK. Thank God it came out nice and hubby was really touched to see this.

He didn't expect i would come out with such deco for Father's Day cake. He was so touched and said thank you to me. When i saw he smile and happy, i felt appreciated and my effort was paid. :)

And for dinner, i made Caramelized Baked Chicken Wing. My first attempt too. Hubby really liked this dish. He was really satisfied and keep saying 'sedap oh, puas hati makan' while eating. LOL

Just a simple dinner on Father's Day. Fried rice with pork and iceberg lettuce, Caramelized Baked Chicken Wing and a Chocolate Fudge Cake for dessert.
