A Blogger Friend's Wedding & Mother's Day 2013

Hi dear readers,

This post was supposed to be posted about 2 weeks ago. Due to busy with my lil boy and baking projects, I have to hold on this post for a while until today. :D

So, today I like to share with you these photos of a blogger friend who had tied knot  on 11th May 2013.

CNY 2013

How is your Chinese New Year Celebration so far?.. It's the 4th day of CNY. I bet it must be fun and wonderful. Kids and youngsters must be so happy too with the angpows and fireworks. The adults busy with the family gathering and eating, eating and eating. Talking about eating, I think I gained few kgs because of the eating feast. Oh my gosh!

Our CNY celebration this year is not that really huge. Honestly, we don't really celebrate CNY. A simple lunch on the 1st day of CNY just to mark a family gathering on CNY. I do have the blood of Chinese but it is from my great great grandfather. My great great grandpa is purely from Hong Kong. His daughter (my grandma) married to my grandpa who is a Kadazanese from Papar.  And his granddaughter (my mom) married to my dad who is from Tuaran. That made me KadazanDusun.

My Wedding Gown

Hello dear friends, how is your day?..
Well today i am gonna post about "My Wedding Gown" which is a topic for Cath-j.com Blog Guest.

The story is..

The wedding gown wasn't really my dream gown. I searched for my dream wedding gown which is more to modern style, simple yet come with my body shape and the gown not kembang. However, i didn't found it. (You know-lah kalau rent punya gown mana ada yg betul-betul ikut shape badan kita kan..hehe)

Rented this strapless wedding gown from Yes I Do Bridal, Penampang.
Though it was not my dream wedding gown, I found it fine for me. So, i took the wedding gown as for the Wedding Mass ceremony.

Upon entering church (berdebarnya hati.. hehe)

After the Wedding Mass ceremony..

Upon entering the wedding reception hall.

So, how you find my gown?.. Simple seja kan.. Tidak terlalu kembang and tidak meleret-leret gown dia.. Yes, I planned for simple gown only.. :)

And here is the upper part of the wedding gown.. Simple yet i found it nice lah.. It designed with a few flower pattern and buttons.

Upper part designed with few flower patterns and buttons..

And as for wedding reception, we choose blue color as our theme. And here is my wedding reception dress. :)

 Blue theme for reception

Ok that's it for now. Hope you had a great weekend. :D
GOD bless.

Romantic Tips and Ideas for an Anniversary

Hello dear friends,
It's 30th November, the last day of the month. And tomorrow we will welcoming December with warm heart. Oh how i can wait December and finally it'll arrive tomorrow..hehe

Well, what actually happening on December. Yes, we're all knew that December is the celebrations for the Christians because this particular month is the celebration of the birth of the Lord Jesus Christ. Yes, it is mostly known as Christmas Day celebration.

I love December sooooo much, not only because of Christmas and towards the New Year celebration, i love December because my birthday and hubby's birthday also fall in December. And to make life more happening and interesting, our wedding anniversary also fall in December. Now you can say that there are various joyous celebrations in a month. Full package celebrations hehehe..

Thinking of wedding anniversary, i would like it celebrated more in special way this year. But i don't really have idea how to proceed with it..  I searched for it on internet and i guess it's best I share this with you too.. :)

Romantic Tips and Ideas for an Anniversary

Little romantic tips and ideas can be the spark that keeps a loving fire alive, and what better occasion to be romantic than on an anniversary? It may be sweet, it may be cheesy, but whatever it is, romance is never a bad idea.

Know What Your Beloved Loves
When planning a romantic anniversary, remember to keep it personal. Even generic, romantic dinner ideas need to be molded for the exact person you're wooing. Chinese or Italian food, private or public table and candle or electric light all depend on your beloved's preferences.

Just Add Flowers
No matter what you have planned, adding flowers is usually a good idea. Flowers are usually first on the list for romantic tips for men, but women can take advantage of them as well. A bouquet is a quiet way of saying that just the small joy their beauty may bring is worth the money. However, make sure the flowers are in good condition. Cheap flowers suggest that it wasn't worth the time, effort or money to bring that special smile to your partner's face.

A Vacation Together at Home
Clean the house from top to bottom and send any kids or roommates away for the weekend. Rent some great movies you both want to see, and stock up on yummy food, drinks and lots of popcorn. Place all the phones on silent and take a vacation in your own home. Spend your anniversary time relaxing. Though not overtly romantic, taking a break and rejuvenating together helps restore that sensual aspect to any relationship.

Put Your Love in Writing
If you have a way with words, think about lavishing those thoughts and feelings on your beloved. Write a loving note or poem for each year you've been married. If it's your ten-year anniversary, write ten poems. Attach a flower to each poem. Start giving your spouse the poems before your anniversary, so that the last one lands on that special date.

Okay, that's it for now.
I hope this tips not only give some ideas for me, but for you too.. :)
Take care.

All in One Stories..

Yes, these were about all things happened last week. To begin with last Tuesday, I went to office as usual and had my breakfast at office. I had a cup of Milo and piece of biscuit. Suddenly I felt something wrong with my stomach. Thought that I can bear it for a while, but it seem getting worse and after few minutes later it became truly worse until I can’t even stand. It made me think of what sort of meal I took the day before because I really didn’t understand why my stomach gone upset like that. Dear hubby was in Kudat. I am really sad at that time. He’s not in KK and suddenly I fell into chronic stomachache. Feels like I am the only one living in this world that nobody I have to went to. Thank GOD my family is around Putatan (about only 20 mins from KK) and I really can’t stand the stomach pain till I called my younger brother to fetch me up. It was about 9am. I have to wait for about 20 mins till he arrived and sent me straight forward to my parent’s house in Putatan.

As I reached at my parent’s house, I lied down on bed in weak condition till I fell to sleep. Around 12.30pm dear hubby came. I am so glad and it feels like a dream, I wake up and he’s beside me. Thanks GOD, I am really happy at that time. Then few hours later he brought me to see doctor. Doctor confirmed with me that my gastric pain is striking me again and it was really chronic till it affects my intestine. Yes, I had diarrhea before that. That’s how it started.. Doctor gave 3 types of pill. Of course there’s for gastric pain plus for vomiting and diarrhea which stated take it only if needed. Doctor gave me 2 days mc, so I didn’t turn up to office for couple of days.

The day after I went to clinic, I felt better and continuing taking the medicine that doctor gave me. I went back to office on Thursday. At around 5.30pm, my hubby fetched me up. You must notice why he picked me up hahaha.. Yes he took effort to be with me.. how sweet of him, but still I’m so pity of him . He had to drive to and fro from Kota Marudu and Kota Kinabalu, because he had to attend meeting in Kota Marudu for 3 days. I really appreciate what he had done for me, and I never take that for granted. Thank GOD I found him.

Later, at about 6pm, I received called from my mom. She wanted to bring me along to visit my aunty (uncle’s wife) in Likas Hospital. She admitted to ICU. However, I am not in the mood to go somewhere else since I’m just recover from my gastric pain plus I don’t want to be infected by germs in hospital thought that it will weaken my antibody in order to recover back from my sickness. So, mom just brought dad and my youngest brother to visit my aunty.

On Saturday, I felt much better. I went to office for half day work. Then, I went to Ms Sylvrina wedding reception. She was my schoolmate back in secondary school. She looked so beautiful on her wedding dress. She is currently working under health department and her husband is a teacher. We had so much fun on her wedding reception where we were served by various performances which include their 1st dance, choir performance, line dances, dances performed by their relatives and many more. And of course not forget to take picture with the bride while hubby had fun taking pictures of the couple since he always like to take picture of wedding couple for his photography learning process.

And on Sunday which is yesterday, I went to my aunty funeral. Remember I wrote earlier about my aunty that my mom asked to bring me along to visit her on last Thursday?.. Yes, finally she rest in peace 2 days later. She was such a strong lady. And I just knew yesterday that she suffered from servic cancer. She left her husband (my uncle which is Mom’s brother) 54 yrs old, 2 daughters and 3 sons. The funeral take place at our village in Kg Kinarut, Papar and were attended by relatives all the way from KK, Tenom, Tuaran, Kota Belud, Papar, Labuan, Sarawak and Singapore.

That's what really happened to myself and around me on the last week. Things have its up and down. What is matter the most, we have to be ready and surrender ourselves to GOD. Have faith in him no matter what things happen. Because He never fails to LOVE us. He never fails to care of US. He never fails to HELP us.. And these things also remind me that GOD can called us anytime..He can make us return to him at anytime that we never think of..

The conclusion is, our Life is in GOD's hand..

Reminiscing June 2010

How sweet to flash back the celebration that went on June..
I never planned this but it suddenly came while me and hubby wanted to take the opportunity, not to be left out..

Yes, it’s about the Renewal Vow Celebration for Wedding Couple.. The 1st ever Event Celebrated in Sacred Heart Cathedral Kota Kinabalu.

By the way, 1st of all, I really felt nervous about how they are going to conduct to such large participants for this event. It were participated by over 200 couples. Can’t be denied, things went well.. The organizers really planned this well.. As the celebration went on, it really reminds me the 1st time I pronounced those vow at the same church. I really absorbed through the moment and totally felt renewed. Thank GOD, You give this opportunity to us. And not forget to my parents and parents in-law, they attended this event too.

My parents have been married for over 29 years, meanwhile my parents in-law married for about 33 years now. I am very excited to see my mom and dad were in the moment. They never renew their vow since their wedding back in August 1981 and I dreamt for this for so long. I always wanted to see them wearing nice dress and nice coat to celebrate their wedding anniversary as well as to say their vow again at the church.

How can I say.. GOD heard my prayer.. I dreamt for this since twice years ago.. and at the very this year, in the month of June, to my surprised the church organized the 1st ever such event..
Once again, thank GOD..

Like a wedding for the very 1st time, the preparation made us nervous and for sure that are one of those things that really keep us closed. By discussing of what type of dress, make up, hairstyle..i found it’s really fun to do those things again.. Do you agree with me?.. :)

People say pictures represent thousands words.. Now I share some of the pictures..

Thanks to them for putting trust in my hubby as their official photographer
for their wedding ceremony..
Congrats Ezan, may both u live happily ever after..

LONGEST MARRIED COUPLE, 85 years..

I received this email from mom and I would like to share it to dear readers.
Hope this able to provide some reflection to our life about what Love & Marriage is..
Take your time to read it.. :)

Meet Herbert and Zelmyra Fisher of North Carolina . They have been married 85 years (86 in May) and hold the Guinness World Record for the longest marriage of a living couple and get this…. Zelmyra is 101 years old and Herbert is 104.

The happily married couple teamed up with twitter this Valentine’s Day to answer some relationship questions. Check out their take on finding love, getting through hard times and more. Good read.

1. What made you realize that you could spend the rest of your lives together? Were you scared at all?
H & Z: With each day that passed, our relationship was more solid and secure.Divorce was NEVER an option - or even a thought.

2. How did you know your spouse was the right one for you?
We grew up together & were best friends before we married. A friend is for life - our marriage has lasted a lifetime.

3. Is there anything you would do differently after more than 80 years of marriage? We wouldn’t change a thing. There’s no secret to our marriage, we just did what was needed for each other & our family.

4. What is your advice to someone who is trying to keep the faith that Mr. Right is really out there?
Zelmyra: Mine was just around the corner! He is never too far away, so keep the faith - when you meet him, you’ll know.

5. What was the best piece of marriage advice you ever received?
Respect, support & communicate with each other.Be faithful, honest & true.Love each other with ALL of your heart.

6. What are the most important attributes of a good spouse?
Zelmyra: A hard worker & good provider. The 1920s were hard, but Herbert wanted & provided the best for us.I married a good man!

7. What is your best Valentine’s Day memory?
Zelmyra: I cook dinner EVERY day.Herbert left work early & surprised me – he cooked dinner for me! He is a VERY good cook!
Herbert: I said that I was going to cook dinner for her & she could relax - the look on her face & clean plate made my day!

8. You got married very young – how did u both manage to grow as individuals yet not grow apart as a couple?
“Everyone who plants a seed & harvests the crop celebrates together” We are individuals, but accomplish more together.

9. What is your fondest memory of your 85-year marriage?
Our legacy: 5 children, 10 grandchildren, 9 great-grandchildren, and 1 great-great grandchild.

10. Does communicating get easier with time? How do you keep your patience? The children are grown, so we talk more now. We can enjoy our time on the porch or our rocking chairs - together.

11. How did you cope when you had to be physically separated for long periods of time?
Herbert: We were apart for 2 months when Z was hospitalized with our 5th child. It was the most difficult time of my life. Zelmyra’s mother helped me with the house and the other children, otherwise I would have lost my mind.

12. At the end of bad relationship day, what is the most important thing to remind yourselves?
Remember marriage is not a contest – never keep a score. God has put the two of you together on the same team to win.

13. Is fighting important?
NEVER physically! Agree that it’s okay to disagree, & fight for what really matters. Learn to bend - not break!

14. What’s the one thing you have in common that transcends everything else?
We are both Christians & believe in God. Marriage is a commitment to the Lord.We pray with & for each other every day.

Congratulations to Rosie and Winston

Congratulation to Rosie and Winston for their wedding on last weekend.. There’re so many couple tying knot this year and me myself got at about more than 5 wedding invitations. However, I really love to attend wedding ceremony/party. I like to see those brides and grooms on their reception with different style of dress, hair-do and etc. I love to see the happiness that shine from their face..as well as the family members too..

The reception took place at KDCA, Penampang at about 1pm.. and I guess the wedding mass was the day before because I didn’t attend the wedding mass.. However, the wedding reception was absolutely joyful with those friends and family members who were trying to show their style on their dances..which we called the “Sumazau” dance, a traditional dance for Kadazan Dusun ethnic here in Sabah..

Once again..Congratulations to Rosie and Winston.. May they live happily ever after..GOD bless.

Tips on How to Celebrate Your Wedding Anniversary

Cherish your moment together..

Need tips to celebrate your wedding anniversary this year?.. yes, it’s a wonderful thing to do. This would be worth to prolong relationship between you and your husband/wife. Let the feeling of appreciation rise between you. Show your love, care and appreciation to your spouse. Marriage is a wonderful thing, complicated and need commitment between two individuals. This relationship should be remembered and be treasured no matter for how many years your marriage is. Be proud for the effort and love that both you preserve for years and hope your marriage will last. Marriage bond will be getting stronger from year to year as you try to work it out together, to make it a successful and a blissful relationship. Good luck.. ;)

These are the tips on how to celebrate your wedding anniversary this year which I got it from internet source not long ago. I hope this will help and I’m really glad to share these to all of you. It’s worth to try.. ;)

Go for vacation
It such a long time you both have never gone for a vacation. Take a break. Apply for a week’s leave. Sit down together and discuss where to go. But, please, no fighting over the decision of the place to go. Think of a place that you both like to go. List down of all the places in a piece of paper and don’t forget about the budget. Going for a vacation is not meant to be broke after coming back from the vacation. The kids? What about the kids? There are two solutions. Whether you leave them behind with someone you trust, such as your parents or your in-laws or you take them along. But, beware. You both might be very tired after the vacation with the kids.

Do fun activities together
Is there an activity that you both love doing it together but don’t have the time? Activity such as, cycling, hiking, camping, riding on a hot air balloon, boating, riding horses or even going to movie together. If yes, this is the time. Take a leave and off you go, please. You will realize there is so much of missing moments between both of you.

Dine out or specially cook
If you both can’t take leave, celebrate it romantically with candle light dinner either at your favorite restaurant or at home. If you are to celebrate at home, cook something special. Talking about cooking something special, wife do you still remember what was your 1st cooking after you got married? An over cooked meal with a burned fish? Perhaps you can still cook the dish but give it a slight better cooking this time. Ask your husband, “Do you still remember my 1st cooking for you?” Let’s hear his answer then. The situation might also be vice versa, where the husband was the one who cooked 1st time after got married.
If you choose to have outside dinner, I would suggest that you both go to the first dining restaurant that you went for your dating last time. It will bring back nostalgia to both of you.

Drop a special note
On the day of the anniversary, husband, leave a note on the dressing table or on the bath room mirror or stick it at the refrigerator before you go to work. A simple note saying that, “Honey, I love you. Thanks for being me after all these years.” Well, you can compose a better love notes than I am. If you find hard to compose one, get a book on love notes from amazon.com or barnesandnobles.com. Or, take a lyric from a love song that you both enjoy listening.

Traditional gifts
Husband, if you are planning to give a traditional gift for your wife such as flowers, please put an add-on to it. You can combine flowers with chocolate; flowers with keepsake box; flowers with ticket to movie show; flowers with aromatherapy massage oil or flowers with jewelry. Wife, if you are planning to give a gift for your husband, perhaps you can get him a set of toiletries of his favorite designer fragrances, a new shirt with his favorite color, tickets to his favorite sports event or gifts that are related to his hobby. Not another socks, ties, undergarment please.

Seeds of Love
Husband/wife, your spouse enjoys gardening. Choose few packets of vegetables seeds or flower seeds of her/his favorite selection and wrap it in a pot where the plant going to be plant. Write down a note saying that “Let’s plant together our Seeds of Love and let our love grow each minute, each day, each week, each month and years”. (Our note is just an example. You can compose a better one that ours.) And, do plant the seeds together. Choose a special moment for both of you to plant it.

Create “Do You Still Remember This Moment?” Scrapbook
Do you have a memorable photo apart from your wedding photo? A long time vacation photo, a birthday photo, any photo which the event was a memorable one. Pick as much photos as you can and start doing your “Do You Still Remember This Moment?” scrapbook. With this type of creative memory scrapbooks, memories come back to life when the books are viewed. Pictures make more sense as they are paired with words or laid out in an organized fashion. Reliving moments preserved in the scrapbooks could be a good way to keep family ties and strengthen bonds. Additionally, well kept books could serve as heirlooms that would keep a family’s legacy throughout the coming generations.

The renewal of vows
The renewal of vows is a ceremony where a couple relives their commitment and vows to reaffirm their love and devotion to one another. The couple can set a date that will coincide with the date they celebrated their original wedding. Many couples prefer to renew their vows on the exact date of the 10th, 20th, 25th, or 50th anniversary of their wedding. These are significant dates that they cherish, despite the trials in life as married couples. It is also important and significant to many couples who wish to celebrate their marriage with their families and friends. This celebration is very significant to many couples because they would once again affirm their commitment be unified with love.

Time is a luxury that people do not have. There are things that are beyond the control of people that are unforeseen which happen in the blink of an eye. The best thing to do is spend quality time together no matter how short or long, making each other feel loved and special at all times, even though if it is not yet your anniversary day to celebrate.

Lorenza and Claren's Big Day

These photos were taken during October 2008. My long lost friend, Lorenza invited me to her wedding reception at her house at Kg. Kolopis,Penampang. Such an honor invited to her wedding. It’s been a long time till we meet again. We were classmates during primary school. If not mistaken, it was when we were standard 3 or 4 then. I am happy invited to her wedding reception. It was such a simple but pleasant ceremony.

These photos taken by me and as my hobby is editing photos, here are the outcome..
Hope you'll enjoy.. ;)
